Presentation of the gallery

Passionate about contemporary art and the artistic and cultural diversity of Southeast Asian countries that he has been discovering for over thirty years, Arnaud Lebecq decided to combine both passions. After a training in art history and art market, he created in 2019 his gallery dedicated to these countries.
With a very dynamic contemporary Asian art market, where galleries and collectors are primarily focusing on China, artists, especially from Southeast Asian countries are often disregarded.

The galerie arnaud Lebecq, eager to highlight these original art scenes, is fully dedicated to the diffusion and the influence in France and Europe of their abundant productions, marked by both local culture and a great contemporaneity in the addressed subjects and the utilized techniques.

Through regular visits of their studios, Arnaud Lebecq develops close and trustful relationships with the artists he represents. He encourages them sharing the power and originality of their creations with French and European collectors.

The gallery supports internationally renowned contemporary artists as well as emerging artists working all types of mediums: paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, videos.

By opting for temporary exhibition spaces and participation in art fairs, the gallery is operating under a nomad model.

The gallery is also receiving its collectors in its private space in Paris.

Presentation of the artist in focus

Driven by questions of identity and fascinated by mysticism and its invisible territories, Florian Sông Nguyễn, of Franco-Vietnamese origin, is using ink drawing as an exploratory tool. Each creation is the result of a process rooted in contemplation, continued by researches and imagination.
In his series "Le Poids des Yeux" (The Weight of Eyes) and his extreme meticulousness based on the magnifying glass effect, he takes us into the minuscule where human beings, reduced to the scale of insects and plants, discover another world.

His work has been presented in 2023 in Paris at the Festival Jeune Création, the ICI Vietnam Festival and galerie arnaud Lebecq, and in Istanbul at the Ambidexter Gallery; in 2022 at the 12th Berlin Biennale, and earlier at the Museum of Fine Arts in Hô Chi Minh Ville, at the SPRMKT Art Space at STPI in Singapore, at the Metaxu and Axolotl galerie in Toulon, at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in Hanoi and Hô Chi Minh Ville, at the Institut Français in Hanoi and Hô Chi Minh Ville, at DDESSIN 2018 Art Fair, A2 Z art Gallery in Paris, Gabinete de Madame Thao in Lisbon and Rue de Tanger Gallery in Casablanca.
