Presentation of the gallery

Réjane Louin created her gallery in 2008 in Locquirec.
Showing and disseminating contemporary art in a seaside town in North Finistère, where no one expected it, proved to be a real challenge. For 15 years, the gallery has been supporting and defending emerging artists as well as established artists, both French and foreign.
Thanks to a personal and committed program, based on assertive artistic practices and ever-renewed technicalities, Réjane Louin has succeeded in bringing together artists, enlightened amateurs, collectors and critics.
The gallery organizes 4 solo or thematic exhibitions per year, participates in fairs in France and abroad (Drawing Now art fair Paris, Bienvenue, Une partie de Campagne Slick Art Fair Paris, Art on Paper Brussels, Drawing Amsterdam ...) and positions itself as curator of events outside the walls.
Over the years, Galerie Réjane Louin has proven to be a structuring player in contemporary art in Brittany.

Presentation of the artist in focus

Natalia Jaime-Cortez, born in Paris in 1983, is a graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
For more than 10 years, she has been handling paper as part of her performances. Folded, unfolded, pigmented, inked, the paper unfolds in the line, the body and the colour.

For Drawing Now, Natalia Jaime-Cortez will present a set of large paper formats whose fibers have collected the streams in which she immerses them. The colour of the waters of different territories is impregnated in the support. This colour is the effect of time, of the seasons, of lights; an effect of a buried geology that soils, minerals, sediments have marked. Ink is the vector of this transformation.
For the artist, water is not only purifying, it is also the sediment of many of the tragic conflicts of our world that it is important for her to look at today as a visual artist.
