Carte blanche à Mircea Cantor Vânătorul de imagini » («Chasseur d’images »), – From January 15th to March 30th 2019 –
The Romanian people have developed a special relationship with wild animals, from the Carpathian forests to the marshy lands of the Danube Delta. Bears, wolfs, migratory birds … all animals are celebrated in popular festivals. The Museum offered a carte blancheto the artist Mircea Cantor to express this porosity between humanity and animality. In addition to a solo exhibition, Mircea Cantor invites his artists’ friends from the Kluj School to occupy the museum by inserting their works, paintings and drawings, on the same theme into the permanent collections.
