The combination of the works offers to a viewer, two different approaches defining portions of a space. All those are mental spaces, created in both cases through the process of drawing lines.
Matthew Allen’s work is based on the replication of endless series of pencil traits. Such a long meditative process produces as a result an impeccable compact surface of polished graphite.
Paolo Cavinato uses fishing lines trajectories instead to draw perspectives of internal spaces. The artist makes hand pencil drawings of such mental spaces and then from the bidimensional state, he turns traits into 3-D objects made of multilayers lines threads.
