Presentation of the gallery

Galerie Ariane C-Y focuses on emerging French and international contemporary art: drawing, painting and sculpture.
The gallery supports ultra-contemporary creation. Each exhibition project is designed in close collaboration with the artist.
The themes explored by the gallery highlight a form of contemporary intimacy. They relate to the body, home or nature. The artists represented by the gallery are strongly rooted in the History of art.

Each exhibition is organised as an independent project. The venue of the exhibition varies in order to adjust to the specificities of the curatorial project. The exhibitions are mainly set in Paris, Le Marais, or elsewhere in France and abroad. Most of them last four days, they are a brief moment of discovery of the artworks and discussion with the public. As an art historian, graduated from École du Louvre, Ariane C-Y publishes catalogues that reflect her constant dialogue with the artists.

The PDF catalogues are available on line on the website. Galerie Ariane C-Y has participated in fairs since its creation in 2014, both in France and abroad.

Presentation of the artist in focus

Camille Brès draws and paints her relatives, her everyday life. This familiar material enables her to generate fiction and staged snapshots. A great colourist, she will be presenting pastels and gouaches at the show, in particular her new series of "Dormeurs". Her "Tout contre jour" exhibition in May 2023 was an opportunity to unveil her work in oil pastel. The artist sees in pastel the possibility of combining the characteristics of gouache and oil, her two favoured mediums until now.

CAMILLE BRÈS (1987)
Born in 1987. She lives and works in Strasbourg, France.
Educated at the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin, Camille Brès belongs to the young generation of French figurative painters who are renewing the genre. She has taken part in numerous Regionale exhibitions in Basel and in Strasbourg. Camille Brès also participated in Jeune Création in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the Puzzle (in Thionville) devoted a room to her in their "Entre-Corps" exhibition, where she showed around fifteen works. She is one of five artists chosen to represent France at "Time reflexions", organised by Art2cure in Luxembourg in 2023. Camille Brès makes reference to paintings that have gone before her, from the Renaissance up to contemporary art. From intimate themes, she elicits an essence and opens them up into wider issues: she explores the psyche, feminism and even global warming.
