Presentation of the artist in focus

Drawing the blurred contours of an island identity is what the Galerie Eric Mouchet stand is trying to do with its stand for the 2024 edition of the Drawing Now Show. With the work of Noémie Sauve who, on her return from her residency on the island of Vulcano in the Aeolian archipelago, it is the very structure of an island that takes shape. Whether it is its geology, its movement, or its creation with techniques such as electrolysis, bioluminescence, it is the physical structure of the island that is taking shape. Differently, with Samuel Trenquier's work, it's more about the cultural identity of the island. In gouache and on cigarette paper, it is the very idea of the Robinsonade that takes shape from the mainland, a colourful and abundant vision of the island's identity.
