Presentation of the artist in focus

Giulia Dall'Olio (Bologna, 1983) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. The artist studies the process of anthropization using painting and drawing. His works represent a nature flourishing without borders. Unlimited details and illegible signs coexist in the artist's works, they become a metaphor for human action and stimulate a reflection on the invisible and on the spirituality of a nature that constantly changes and evolves trying to overcome, through time, the consequences of the phenomenon. The techniques applied on paper represent for Dall'Olio a way of reconnecting deeply with herself; Nature becomes the symbol of an intimate search that has no clear form, it is constantly evolving. Winner of several awards, in 2020 she received the Acquisition Award of the Emilia Romagna Region and was a finalist for the COMBAT Prize in Livorno and the Arte Laguna Prize in Venice; in 2019, she was a finalist in the XXth edition of PREMIO CAIRO, Palazzo Reale, Milan. The artist has exhibited in Italy, Germany and the United States. Key exhibitions include: Through the Sign, Varfork Galeria, Budapest, 2023; Imbalance, Kunsthalle Mannheim, Mannheim, 2022; Level 0, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome, 2021; INEFFABLE WORLDS, Tang Contemporary Art, Hong Kong, 2021; Suspension, Massey Klein Gallery, New York 2018; Biennale del Disegno di Rimini, Rimini; 2018 ; Ad Naturam, Isabelle Lesmeister Gallery, Regensburg, 2017; Il Terzo Paesaggio, Museo di Palazzo Poggi, Bologna, 2016 and Cave Naturam, MAR, Ravenna, 2015, both edited by L. Regano.
